A location-based service (LBS) utilizes the geographic position of a user’s mobile device to provide them with enhanced information such as personalized weather forecasts, the nearest ATM or bank, directions, the whereabouts of a friend or friends, etc. LBS services can also include parcel tracking, vehicle tracking services and location-based games. LBS can include mobile commerce in the form of coupons or advertising directed at customers based on their current location.
