Depth of Visit

Depth of visit is a measure of online visitor behavior. How many different pages is a visitor viewing during a visit to your website? Typically, the more pages, the more engaged the visitors, and the more likely they are to make a purchase.


As always, context is important in interpreting metrics. For example, on ecommerce sites, visits that far exceed the number of pages required for purchase may indicate a problem with the content or the organization of the site.
