Mattel (MAT) has released a Barbie doll with tattoos on her neck and shoulders, and wearing leopard print leggings, pink pleather mini skirt, sparkly silver shoes and a black top with heart and crossbones logo. Urban Outfitters (URBN) has removed the word "Navajo" from product names on its website in the wake of criticism from the Navajo Nation government, bloggers and others, who viewed the usage as disrespectful and a trademark violation. Critics found the use of the Navajo name on products including a flask and ‘hipster panty’ to be particularly offensive but the company initially defended the product names stating, in part, “…like many other fashion brands, we interpret trends and will continue to do so for years to come…” The Associated Press10/20/11

CVS (CVS) one of the nation’s largest pharmacy chains, has forged a partnership with Google (GOOG) that enables their customers to import their full prescription history into Google Health, which was launched in May, 2008. Dominos (DPZ) franchisees were hit with 11,000 orders on March 30 as part of a ‘mistaken’ free medium-pie promotion that didn't exist. Huh? Supposedly, Dominos agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky devised the online promotion in December using the password "bailout.” The promo was not approved, but no one disabled the code. More women who are “well educated and trained for career tracks” have opted to stay home, according to a recent CNN article. More than 10 percent of SAHWs who were interviewed in one recent study were also childless. And with the rising cost of gas, food, and other living expenses, stay-at-home wives may be the latest “status symbol,” says Daniel Buccino, a Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine clinical social worker and psychotherapist.
But SAHWs are not home eating bon bons all day; many regard homemaking as an important responsibility that frees the husband from ‘honey do’ lists and allows the couple to have more quality time together. They also devote time to volunteer work, and pursue hobbies.
